Air India employees' union to meet, plan stir against privatization
NEW DELHI: Air India's largest employees' union will hold its
general body meeting here this week to "organise its members for a movement"
against the government's decision to privatise the debt-ridden national
carrier.
The Air Corporations Employees' Union (ACEU) is also planning to meet a group of ministers to be set up by the government to look into the disinvestment of its stake in the airline.

"The meeting will be held to enlighten the rank and file
about the privatisation of Air India and how it will affect them. This will
also be a forum to organise them as we plan a movement against the
privatisation of the national carrier," said a member of the ACEU.
The move is clearly aimed at benefiting private airlines. If the government is so concerned about the taxpayers' money, then why does it not recover Rs 7.5 lakh crore borrowed by corporates from public sector banks?" the member asked.
Seven unions of Air India have already joined hands to oppose the privatisation of the financially bleeding airline. Their representatives met last month and wrote to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapthi Raju, warning him of an "industrial unrest".

Airbus Signs Major Engineering Services Contract

Bangalore: Airbus has signed strategic agreements with
AXISCADES and QuEST for providing critical engineering services as tier 1
suppliers. AXISCADES will provide the services for Fuselage parts and QuEST
will offer services for the Wings of all Airbus Aircraft.
AXISCADES and QuEST
have dedicated development centres in Bangalore with about 500 engineers to
deliver these services. This is the second time that these companies winning
the Airbus contract. Past performance,the cost and competency factors helped
them emerge as the top choice among the 7 contentors according to Airbus.

India' partnerships like these we have Indian engineering expertise flying on
Airbus planes. Outside Europe, India provides the maximum volume of engineering
services to Airbus compared to any other country" said Dr.Srinivasan

Isro’s ESSRI 2016 conference wants us to build 10-12 satellites a year

On the day of the record 20 satellite launch by Isro, there was another event happening where Isro was planning the building of more indigenous satellites with representatives from the Indian aerospace industry. ISRO Satellite Centre, ISAC held a Make in India conference in Bangalore, called Enabling Spacecraft Systems Realisation through Industries (ESSRI 2016). The conference was attended by ISRO executives and more than 110 Indian aerospace companies participated.
There is an increase in demand of satellite based services in India, and Isro wants to launch at least 10 to 12 satellites every year to meet the demand. Isro hopes to do this through indigenous made satellites. Isro does outsource some parts of the satellites to third parties, but no company takes up the end to end creation of satellites. Isro wants to introduce best practices and technologies to the industry, to enable Indian companies to boost their satellite making capabilities.
Senior Isro representatives spoke to the industry attendees at the conference, and outlined Isro’s plans for future launches, and the expected hardware, technologies, delivery schedules and quality for these launches. The satellites are required by various governmental bodies and ministries, who want to incorporate information and data available through new and emerging satellite technologies. The aerospace industry in India welcomed Isro looking for ways to increase the participation of vendors in its space program, the industry as well as Isro stand to benefit through a deeper co-operation.

Boeing and Bharat Forge Limited (BFL) announced the first shipment of titanium flap-track forgings made by the Indian supplier for Boeing’s Next-Generation 737. Bharat Forge will also supply forgings for the 737 MAX, scheduled to enter into service in 2017.

Aerospace Technical Publications
deals with the development and maintenance of technical data for the Aircraft and
its components. The Aircraft manufacturers produce comprehensive technical
documentation on the operation, maintenance, support and retrofit of its
Aircraft. This documentation is provided to the Aircraft operators in the form
of manuals. These manuals communicate information in order to have a specific
message or task understood and accomplished as intended. The text/information
must be clear, concise and consistent throughout the manual. Aircraft operators
and owners perform the maintenance on their Aircraft using these manuals. The
maintenance of the Aircraft is done by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and
Engineers. As Aircraft age, these publications become more critical as the

Authoring involves gathering of technical information from
approved/authentic technical documents, and transferring these technical
contents in the authoring environment. This creates clear and concise
technical documents which are universally understood across the Aerospace
Industries and Aircraft Operators.

|
Illustrations are used as the primary means to convey the
information. These illustrations are used in conjunction with the above
authored tasks. An illustration is an artwork that helps in a better
understanding of the authored task. The illustrations must be kept simple and
presented in a self-explanatory style. An Illustration is generally not
focused on Form, Fit and Function of
the component/unit.

Publishing is a process of converting the above authored and
illustrated task to various formats as desired by the OEM (Original Equipment
Manufacturers) and/or end users. The various forms are electronic format (CD,
DVDs), or hard copies on paper, or through the websites (Internet).
